WHY? Was the ''Law of Moses'' considered useless, and imperfect?

    one question
did THE WORD OF GOD = YESHUA= EVER CREATE anything USELESS AND IMPERFECT = if so name it?

IF you are responsible to create = you never create anything USELESS AND IMPERFECT~~~
SO it is clear, looking at the ''fruits'' of this Law, Yeshua was never its AUTHOR amen
The Law was Weak and Useless (Hebrews 7:18-19)
    Hebrews 7

“The former regulation is set aside because it was weak and useless (for the law made nothing perfect), and a better hope is introduced, by which we draw near to God”
    ( Hebrews 7:18-19 )

This passage clearly declares using it in this way is weak, useless and ineffective.
Even Saul/Paul [the 13th apostle THAT SELF PROFESSOR 22 TIMES] called the Law the ministry of death ( II Corinthians 3:7 ).
    [HE GOT THAT RIGHT!!!]

So relying on it to bring us into fellowship with God, bridging the gap caused by sin, only brings us death and condemnation.

Do you understand now what the Law-mongers are trying to do????
What the Judaizers are doing HERE, by design or by ignorance is return you back to the ministry of death and condemnation by teaching ''''''we must obey the Law of Moses''''''
= all 613 units, that were regarded as a whole.[BREAK ONE - BREAK ALL]

WILL YOU BE SUCKED INTO this very deceptive ministry.????

what you need to discern is

Changing the Priesthood Means Changing The Law (Hebrews 7:12)
    Hebrews 7
“For when there is a change of the priesthood, there must also be a change of the law”
    ( Hebrews 7:12

the Law of Moses was deleted....the priesthood killed in 70ad- the whole system removed, never to be returned.

The religious Church as a whole is missing vital information concerning everything that took place at Calvary.
This passage above declares that when there is change in priesthood by necessity there also must be a change in law.

And if there has been a change in the law, why are we still acting as if there hasn’t been?

the LAW WAS CHANGED = WHY ARE YOU STILL INSISTING WE FOLLOW the old imperfect law OF Moses?
    what is your agenda???

    Please=
don't dish up your feeble excuses, and twist the verses to mean, what they really don't say,
    some
''''Christians''' [by name only] still want to live under the Old Testament Covenant which is why we have this hybrid of grace love joy mercy and law works combo - that permeates the Church.

But the ministry Jesus has received is superior to theirs as the covenant of which He is mediator is superior to the old one, and it is founded on better promises”
    ( Hebrews 8:6 ).
YOU CANNOT MESS WITH THAT TRUTH - AND MAKE IT A LIE, by giving us ''your opinions''

Be warned the law-mongers aka judaizers are outside the will of father

''the Law of Moses was no longer perceived in Jesus' day as an expression of God's will; ''.
    SIMPLE FACT!
HIS BELIEVERS are not obligated to keep “the law of Moses''.

    WHY NOT?
The High Priesthood of Jesus is contrasted with the Levitical high priesthood AS The writer of Hebrews says that the old covenant “will soon disappear,” - IT ALL DID IN 70AD

Why? Do ''they'' wish to place you back in ''imperfection''.

IF YOU HAVE A GOOD CHANCE TO BECOME HOLY AND PERFECT By abiding in His incorruptible seed- WHY DO YOU THEN WISH TO be turned BACKWARDS INTO IMPERFECTIONS?
    Is that wise?
well 'they say the law of Moses is spiritual''
if that is so = it is spiritually imperfect~~~~ because ''imperfect'' cannot be changed into ''perfection'' no matter how hard you twist the verses to claim it is so.
for ''something they claim is spiritual'' in the natural millions of people died.

the OT will show that the law of Moses was for a carnal mind without a conscience.
It was never designed to be a permanent legal system.
Accordingly, it was ERASED as a binding law almost 2000 ago.
And yet, tragically, many people are still attempting to observe its precepts today, to one degree or another. -=[warning Will Robinson!!!!!!!]
There are numerous New Testament passages which affirm the termination of the Mosaic economy.
The Jewish regime was certainly included in Jesus’ statement from the cross,
    “It is finished” (John 19:30).
notice this message from Apostle Peter.
= do you think apostle Peter knows MORE THAN SPYING ELIJAH AND KEN?
are they 1st century apostles of Jesus?
    nope

    listen to Peter
Peter then asked his Hebrew brethren:
“Now therefore why do you put God on trial by placing a yoke upon the neck of the disciples which neither our fathers nor we were able to bear?” (Acts 15:10).
Note the use of the term “yoke.”

spying, ken elijah - are putting Father God on trial~

no excuses Ken thank you ! a believer knows the meaning, we don't need your opinions as a convert back to Judaizism

    HERE ARE THE TRUE FACTS
Jesus urged men to take his “yoke” upon them, and learn of him; he promised that the “yoke” would be easy to bear (see Matthew 11:28-30).

Our dear father abba delights when we reason with him

    SEEK him AND ASK him
SIT WITH HIM TO BE DRAINED OF ALL HUMAN UNWISE CHOICES AND really silly religious MIS-UNDERSTANDINGS
    BTW
the Bible never tells people to give up the power of sound reasoning and wise seeking that develops into a relationship with Father.
In fact, conversion to the truth of God, while certainly including an emotional component, is a mental activity, a convicting recognition of facts and reality perceived by the newly converted mind.

“Come now,” God ABBA urges, “and let us reason together TILL WE THINK ALIKE on this issue”

oh dear - be warned please THOSE WHO HAVE SELECTED TO FOLLOW some sections they like

of the Laws of Moses to the Jews only are in GREAT PERIL?
    oh dear why so?
the O.T. law was administrated by the Levitical priesthood.
these men died in70ad. all murdered - none were left = therefore no high priest from this order IS THERE to administer the law correctly.
    kaput
THE JEWS TODAY AND THEIR HOBBLED TOGETHER LAWS have no High priest to minister to their needs. [ its a real farce]

AFTER 70AD the transition period of 40year expired.

enter: the NEW UNDYING ORDER, AND ITS NEW HIGH PRIEST YESHUA
Melchizedeck and Christ, take over from the extinct Levitical Priesthood
    Hebrews 7
Right in the middle of the Hebrew epistle there is a lengthy passage about a man named Melchizedek.
And the affirmation that comes from this discussion is:
Christ is a priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek.A NEW ORDER WAS BEING INTRODUCED
AND HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH THE O.T. LEVITICAL PRIESTHOOD CALLED ''A DYING ONE''

I WOULD LIKE TO WARN OTHERS of the perils of Spying Ken and Elijah - the team of Judaizers.
Christ was "made like unto His brethren,[me] that He might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people," (2:17).

these 3 men now have NO HIGH PRIEST TO MAKE RECONCILIATION ON THEIR BEHALF.
    OH YES
the 3 men will scream blue murder, but the truth remains, once you accept the Law of Moses, as your gospel and priesthood - KAPUT~~~~ you are dead men walking!!!!
they cannot come to the Throne of Grace as they remain outside its merciful intercessions!!!!

Wherefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our profession, Christ Jesus," (3:1).
"Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession.
    For we have not a high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities;
but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.
Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need," (4:14-16).
All of this was set up, executed and revealed by OUR SAVIOUR, for the purpose of convincing the Jews - their old Levitical priesthood was now history.
The broader point of application was:
Their old law was now abrogated.
    For the Levitical priesthood and the old law were bound together;
one was a subordinate part of the other.
Thus it followed -- if the priesthood is changed,
"there is made of necessity a change also of the law,"
    (Heb. 7:12).

For us what does this mean?
It means that the law of Moses is not binding today.

And it means that we have a high priest (access to God)!
"For such a high priest became us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and made higher than the heavens.
Who needeth not daily, as those high priests, to offer up sacrifice, first for his own sins, and then for the people's; for this He did once, when he offered up Himself."
    (Heb. 7:26-27).

"Wherefore, he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them," (Heb. 7:25).

The worst of all the 3 MEN are unable to find help in time of need NOR EVEN BE SAVED TO THE UTTERMOST. .
This is why they live in the lifestyle they do!!

alas, IT IS THE SADDEST THING TO SEE MEN LED ASTRAY

now i do realise very few will understand what i post and will wish to argue

    their indoctrinated version!!!
    but the truth is...…………….
    To rule properly,
one must have a clear grasp of the New Covenant,

    why?
because this is the foundation of the entire Kingdom structure.
Believers must know the simple truth that the New Covenant is God’s promise to man, while the Old Covenant is man’s promise to their god

THE BELIEVERS IN YESHUA are on the brink of a great shift from one age to another.

Now is the true TRANSITION TIME and the Believers are heading toward the Tabernacles manifestation of the Kingdom, but I did not know that it would take this long.
It has been a progressive revelation, and time has seasoned all of us with patience and the knowledge of our Saviour, His ministry and His kingdom

don't ever allow anyone to put you back under condemnation and captivity and oh boy, they sure will try.
    and
they will sound quiet convincing... WATCH THE FRUIT. [ the life-fruits win every time not the lips]
it is a signpost of whom they serve.

    Lucy,

You see, as even you admitted, Messiah Himself changed the letter of the law in Matthew 5 to the spirit or spiritual intent of the law, and even the apostle Paul admits this too Romans 7:14; 2 Corinthians 3:6, and so now to even dwell on the thoughts or to hate someone in a person's heart or mind, is the same as committing the act itself, because as the apostle James 1:14-15 said, lust is first conceived in the mind, it brings forth sin, and sin, when it is finished, brings forth death.

So sin/or transgression of the spiritual law 1 John 3:4 begins in the mind or heart, and this is where we must nip sin in the bud, and if we do, we will never commit the act itself, and this is WHY Messiah said:

But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart/mind; and they defile the man/person. Matt.15:18-20; Mark 7:15.

    Greetings Peach,

Yes, and part of your words and meaning is written by the apostle Paul below.

Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; 2 Corinthians 10:5.

    and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;

So you see, if a person does NOT believe NOR obey Messiah's words as He said to do, they are only pretending, and they are believing for nothing-in vain.

    Lucy,

    When Messiah said:
    “It is finished” (John 19:30).
He was meaning that His purpose on earth and His death was finished, He did NOT say as you and traditional churchanity THINK, the law is finished.

Also, in Acts 15 this is what the question was about.

And certain men which came down from Judaea taught the brethren, and said, Except ye be circumcised after the manner of Moses, ye cannot be saved.

When therefore Paul and Barnabas had no small dissension and disputation with them, they determined that Paul and Barnabas, and certain other of them, should go up to Jerusalem unto the apostles and elders about this question.

Except ye be circumcised after the manner of Moses, ye cannot be saved.

The question was, whether the law saved anyone, and WHY do you turn a blind eye to these texts of scriptures admitting that Paul was accepted with them at the council, and was sent by James and Peter to the Gentiles Acts 15:22??

PS: Lucy, where in Acts 15 did they say that, the law is abolished or done away?

And Lucy, the law cannot save anyone, that is not its purpose.

The purpose of the law which is spiritual is to identify sin Romans 3:20; Romans 7:7; James 2:11; 1 John 3:4, and IF there is no law, then there can be no repentance of sin Acts 3:19; Acts 11:18 unto life.

    Smile

You know, I get a kick and a laugh at traditional churchanity today, because they must say and think this below, as the Almighty looks on them and says.

You better not let me catch you trying to obey Me and that old law of mine, because my Son came and died, so you don't have to keep it now.

the true understand of '' till heaven and earth shall pass away''

in this context it is NOT LITERAL!!
At first glance, it looks as though Jesus was simply saying in this verse,
"My words will be here when the world has passed away"

But is the physical world or universe what Jesus had in mind?
Was a literal heaven and earth in His thoughts?
    NOPE!!!
Remember now, what Jesus had been talking about - what He had already said in this chapter would pass away.
IT IS AN IDIOM FOR the passing away of the Jewish nation, and the old religious order of things.
    70ad

Go back to Matthew 5:18 and see where Jesus said,
"Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled"
Here He said that the law would not pass away until what?
Until two other things passed away.
    What were they?
First, "Till heaven and earth pass;" and, secondly, "till all (the law) be fulfilled."

We know the law was fulfilled in Christ, and all prophecies relating to Israel fulfilled by 70 A.D.
We all realize that because of this all the law was now over.

But how could this be, when "heaven and earth" had not passed away, for Jesus said
"Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law"?

Maybe we can understand this better if we realize He was not talking about the literal heaven and earth, but something else.
Something else would have to pass away before it could be said that the law was not still in effect.

In the New Testament especially, the destruction of heaven and earth refers not to the physical universe, but rather it relates to the final passing of the disobedient nation of Israel.
All would be fulfilled, every jot and tittle, when heaven and earth passed away. (Matt. 5:18).

it was to do with the system of death/condemnation that passed away!!! and was not literal world falling to bits
the whole system was ruined never to raise up again - thank Goodness [ the ''''sharia type'''' of law was destroyed]

As the writer of Hebrews said,
"The Holy Ghost this signifying, that the way into the holiest of all was not yet made manifest, while as the first tabernacle was yet standing." (Hebrews 9:8).

In the destruction of the Temple in A.D. 70, after it was no longer standing, it was manifested that the old covenant had vanished away, and the new heaven and new earth of this gospel dispensation was now in effect.

In all of this we see that from Christ until A.D. 70 there was a gradual transition from the old age to the new.
He came in the end of the age (Hebrews 9:26).
The old was ready to vanish away (Hebrews 8:13).
The new was manifested after the Temple was destroyed (Hebrews 9:8).

that is the truth of this matter~~~ any other opinion is of no consequence = warning DO NOT GO BACK INTO DEATH CAPTIVITY AND CONDEMNATION
I have been researching the roots of some serious problems within the church
The church we see today looks nothing like the church in the Bible and definitely is not the bride Jesus is coming back for.
